Callawassie Island Clubhouse Wedding

Ever since Karmen told me she wanted to film a cinematic shot at an old tabby concrete ruin by the creek, I couldn't wait to get to Callawassie Island.

There were plenty of gorgeous moments throughout the day at Callawassie Island Clubhouse, but my favorite was definitely the ruins. The light was perfect. The breeze was gentle. And Karmen and Eric were down for anything. In case you want to see the video portion I'm referring to, it's about 4 1/2 minutes into the wedding movie. Just make sure you go back and watch from the beginning! It's totally worth the wait, as well. Even the golf cart ride to the ruins was an adventure. Standing on the back of the golf cart while Eric and Karmen drove up front, I held on tight to my camera equipment and enjoyed the ride. Ultimately, we all made it back safe and sound just in time to party at the reception.

I couldn't talk about this amazing day without mentioning the love bugs. As the officiant mentioned in the wedding movie, I take it as a sign of good luck. But let me just say, those things were everywhere! I've never seen anything like it, ha. At least they don't bite.

Eric and Karmen picked a gorgeous location for their ceremony. With the marsh and palmetto trees behind them, the stage was set. A painter recreated the scene on her canvas as time rolled on. I made sure to dash back to her canvas numerous times to gain shots of her progress. Just after Eric and Karmen walk back down the aisle as husband and wife, I cut to the near finished painting as the artist put on the finishing touches.

These two have a very bright future ahead of them. As I often am, I can't help but be inspired by the love they share and express for one another. Thanks for hiring me to capture your big day!
