Hair Knowlogy Commercial

Producing this Hair Knowlogy commercial was truly an awesome experience for us at Stories and Stills. When we were approached with the prospect of creating a commercial for Hair Knowlogy, we knew we wanted to do something outside the norm for local businesses. We've all seen them. Boring, predictable commercials that look exactly like everything else out there. But not us.

We wanted our commercial to follow the journey of a woman who started her day feeling frustrated and worn out, and ultimately renewed by her experience at Hair Knowlogy and their in-house spa 'Earth Muffin.' It didn't take long for us to dream up the story and create a shot list. Rather than a commercial, we prepared to make a mini movie that told a story and made the viewer want to watch from start to finish.

When I met with the owner to finalize the details before we set a filming date, I presented her with three possible endings for the commercial. I had my favorite, but I wanted to give her options to ensure it fit her taste. With fingers crossed, I awaited her response. Seconds later, I was a happy man as we saw eye to eye on the vision for the commercial and it's conclusion. A big shout out goes to 'The Whitney' for allowing us to film our final scene in their awesome spot in downtown Aiken, SC. The look and feel of their restaurant and bar really capitalized on the movie-like commercial we were going for.

I can't say enough great things about the owner of Hair Knowlogy, her crew, and the friendly actresses who helped make this possible. It was such a fun experience and hopefully we'll continue to work on new projects in the future.
