Reality Show Pilot Episode for Big Round Wheel Amusements
When we first heard from Darren Janesky and Big Round Wheel, we couldn't wait to get started. Due to scheduling conflicts, we had never had the opportunity to to create a reality show episode before. Finally, we were able to make it happen.
Big Round Wheel rents, sets up, and runs amusement park rides for big events all around the country. They've been all over the place, bringing smiles to faces of kids young and old. Naturally, the owner Darren believes his company lends itself perfectly to the world of reality television. Did I mention the company is completely ran by the Janesky family? Together they are Big Round Wheel.
We didn't have much prep for this video due to the nature of their business. With weather being such a huge factor, we simply had to be ready for the call that they were ready to film. Big Round Wheel is based in Blacksburg, South Carolina so we traveled almost 3 hours to work with them. Needless to say, we really wanted to do this.
Upon arrival we noticed the wind was going to be a major issue for our shotgun microphones. So thankfully we placed our trusty lavalier microphones behind their shirts, which blocked the wind noise beautifully. No dead cat required! (Look it up if you don't know!) After all, we had a top quality dad cat on our shotgun microphone and it didn't seem to help a bit. Thank goodness for cotton t-shirts.
Finally, we broke out the drone and filmed the ride inspector as he climbed up the side of the Ferris wheel. It gave us a perspective we never could have attained, otherwise. I know I wasn't climbing up there! We concluded the day back at their home/shop where we filmed their introductions for the pilot episode. We really like how everything turned out and can't wait to work on the next one.
