Downtown Aiken Wedding

Bird's-eye view from the top of a church steeple: check.  Drone footage over the alley in downtown Aiken: check.  Original song performance by the mother of the bride: check.  This day had all the makings of a great downtown Aiken wedding and it delivered.  The ceremony took place at Aiken's First Baptist Church and the reception followed at the municipal building in the alley.

Insider Information

Due to the rules of filming and movement of the church in this downtown Aiken wedding, during the ceremony both cameras were stationary and located in the balcony far from the action.  Because of this, I had to make a little movie magic and incorporate footage from earlier in the day.  During the highlight video, you will notice the great closeups of the bride's mother singing and the piano player accompanying her.  But in actuality, those shots were recorded long before the ceremony ever began.

In order to create the illusion that I was able to move around to film during the ceremony, I purposely filmed the mother of the bride and the piano player practicing beforehand.  With the freedom to move around and be as artistic as I wanted, that footage enabled me to add a much needed extra perspective to the ceremony portion of the highlight video.

One of the bridesmaids was actually a former wedding client of mine.  I had photographed her wedding and hadn't seen her since, so it was neat to catch up with her and hear how the newlyweds were doing.  I appreciate all of my clients and love to hear when they're doing great.  Whether Stories and Stills is providing videography services, photography services, or both for your wedding day, we will do everything in our power to make sure you love the results.

I wish Stephen and Sibylle all the best.  Thanks for allowing me to capture such an important day in your lives.
