Downtown Augusta Wedding
Perfect weather, friendly people, and two awesome venues made this an unforgettable downtown Augusta wedding.
Amy and Sam held their ceremony at the Westobou art gallery, and the reception followed at Craft & Vine. I love filming weddings at nontraditional locations like these. The character of the buildings and their surroundings really rubbed off on everyone involved, and made for a laid back experience. The eats cooked up by the chefs at Craft & Vine didn't hurt either. My wife and I already love dining there, so filming was a blast in this downtown Augusta wedding.
Filming the ceremony in the Westobou art gallery was a cool experience. Due to the size and layout of the building, I was really able to get close enough to capture the emotions of the bride and groom. It was awesome to see Sam and Amy embrace when they finished their vows and made it official. Amy even reached over and acknowledged Sam's father and best man as they stood in front of everyone. It was a great moment and I'm proud to have been charged with filming it.I was especially excited to film the reception festivities at Craft & Vine. The restaurant has one of the coolest atmospheres you'll find anywhere. My favorite shot of the night was when the chef placed a steaming plate of food on the bar for a waiter to deliver. I got a great close-up shot of the steam rising as the camera rose from below the bar. The timing was impeccable. I must admit, there was a little bit of luck involved in that one, and I'll take it every time.
I wish Amy and Sam all the best. They definitely have the support of their family and friends, which was on full display throughout the festivities. Thanks for the opportunity to capture such an important day in your lives. Oh, and flying a drone through the middle of Broad Street wasn't too bad either.
