Charleston Music Video Production

This Charleston music video production was planned for Christian music recording artist, Kasi Edwards and her new song, My Anthem. When filming in Charleston, there is a plethora of spectacular locations to choose from. When we worked with Kasi to determine where we would begin the shoot, we instantly thought of The Battery. Her song speaks of God's blessings and her relationship with Him, so we knew the beauty of Charleston's Battery would lend itself perfectly.

When we first arrived, we began the shoot along the water's edge. The weather was great, but when the weather is nice, the people come out to play. So as we were filming, Kasi and I were definitely in the spotlight. Most folks enjoyed stopping to watch us film her music video, but occasionally someone would become a little less patient. For the most part, however, the onlookers loved being witness to a Charleston music video production, with huge smiles on their faces as they walked by.

One of my favorite moments from the Charleston music video production was when we were filming across from The Battery on the sidewalk alongside the beautiful homes that line the street. Halfway into her song we noticed a very nice car pull up and part right next to us. Assuming the worst, I waited for the driver to get out and ask us not to film near his home. On the contrary, he applauded when the song was finished and congratulated Kasi on her performance. He even told us to use whatever we wanted for the music video, which is how we landed the amazing shots on the staircase. Which funny enough, ended up being my favorite location of the entire day in Charleston.

We concluded the day atop a super-high Charleston parking garage that lent itself amazingly well to drone shots. Kasi wore a beautiful, brightly colored dress that day, so I knew I had to have her spin atop the roof as I flew the drone overhead. Needless to say, she nailed it and the footage came out perfect! There truly is nothing quite like filming a music video in Charleston, SC. Where else can you film in such a beautiful location and have a horse carriage walk right past you mid production? Not many places can claim that honor.

Hopefully we'll have an opportunity to film another music video in Charleston very soon. I haven't mentioned this yet, but we actually filmed two music videos for two different recording artists that same day! Our next post will tell you all about it. Did I mention we used our drone to film the rapper as he drove a jet ski under the Ravenel Bridge? You won't wanna miss it!
